Privacy Policy — streak8
Last updated: October 29, 2026
streak8 is a higher-or-lower card game. This policy explains what data the extension stores and shares.
Data stored on your device
Everything the game needs to play is stored locally in the browser's extension storage:
- your score and peak score,
- your player profile and display name,
- local leaderboard entries (player name, peak score, games played, country),
- whether you have seen the tutorial.
Deleting the extension removes this local data from your device.
Global leaderboard (shared data)
The extension also keeps one entry for you on a global leaderboard, so players can compare scores. That entry contains only:
- your display name (chosen by you; a generated “Player-XXXX” name until you pick one),
- your peak score and current score,
- games played,
- your country (detected from your browser's locale settings, or one you picked in an earlier version),
- the date your entry was last updated,
- an anonymous player ID created automatically when the extension first runs — no account, no sign-in, no email, no password.
The leaderboard is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) and is visible to other players inside the extension. Your display name is the only part of the entry you choose; nothing in it identifies you in real life unless you put identifying information in the name yourself.
What streak8 does not do
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking.
- No sale of data to third parties, and no use of data for any purpose unrelated to the game.
- No collection of health, financial, location, authentication, or credit information.
Removing your leaderboard entry
Deleting the extension removes your local data but leaves your anonymous leaderboard entry in place. To have it removed, contact the developer through the support link on the Chrome Web Store listing and include your display name.
